81% Shiraz provides this blend with typical red fruit and spicy flavours while 13% Mourvèdre provides berry and fresh herbal aromas. To complement the overall aromatic sensation and softness to accompany the wood, 6% Viognier was added to the blend.
A combination of American, French and Hungarian Oak Barrels was used in the maturation of the wine, whereafter it spent 12 months in the bottle prior to release.
Food match
Because of the complexity and softness of this wine, it will go very well with marinated meat dishes like duck and fillet steak. Saucy pasta dishes or pork belly will also work perfectly with this blend, making it a good choice for this Christmas season.
