The history of Sangiovese’s cultivation in the heart of Maremma dates back thousands of years. Our Maremma DOC red wine gives true and authentic sensations, Intense scents of the Mediterranean bush and a smooth but strong taste.
Azienda Uggiano is the actual owner of The 40 hectare Tenuta Aquilaia estate in Maremma (southern Tuscany) close to Scantano, in the province of Grosseto. With an average age of ten years, the vineyards produce five red grape varieties: Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Alicante, Merlot and Petit Verdot; plus white varieties Vermentino and Chardonnay. The area was an old Etruscan settlement. And site of ancient winemaking, and several mementos of the Etruscan era are still visible.
They just produce the wine only with the finest selection of grapes. Do the harvest by hand. Carry and aged both in wooden barrels and in bottle. Wines with great potential, expressed in time through their structure. The result of the magnificent combination of climate, terroirs, vine and work, from pruning to harvest, and finally the aging of the wine.
