Tasting notes:
Naturete Verdejo. This organic Verdejo from La Mancha shows great typicity for the region. Fermented spontaneously using the grapes ambient yeasts and aged in stainless steel vats to preserve the delicate and pure aromatics of the variety. On the nose, preserved lemon, lime flesh and white peach is complimented by a strong slatey minerality. Beautifully crisp and dry on the palate, a fine citrus flavour and intriguing minerality gives way to a clean and refreshing finish.
Food Match:
Serve with raw shellfish, grilled fish, roast chicken or try as an aperitif.
Region/Producer:
The high altitude, great plain of La Mancha, to the south of Madrid and east of Toledo, represents the largest viticultural area of Spain. The climate is arid, extreme in both summer and winter, tempered by strong prevailing winds. The widely planted white Arien grape variety is slowly losing favour to Tempranillo, Shiraz and Garnacha. And the old wineries are giving way to gleaming modern facilities heralding a revolution for the region`s winemaking.
