Tasting notes: Mineralium Chenin Blanc

Mineralium Chenin blanc is bright and pale yellow in the glass. The nose displays hints of green apple skin, citrus fruit and fresh cut grass. Therefore this bone-dry white shows terrific balance, with refreshing acidity and minerality. And the limestone mouthfeel is supplemented by juicy grapefruit aromas on the finish.

Food:

Enjoy on its own or with your favourite food: fresh oysters, Pan-Asian fish, fried chicken and vegetable curry.

Region/Producer:

Mastering the nuances of Southern French varietals and combining traditional and modern winemaking techniques, Xavier Roger wines are a superb example of the quality that are now being produced in the South of France. That is to say by using the best parcels in the area, the quality of the range is truly outstanding.

Chenin blanc is a white wine grape variety from the Loire Valley of France. However its high acidity means it can be used to make varieties from sparkling wines to well-balanced dessert wines. Although it can produce very bland, neutral wines if the vine’s natural vigour is not controlled.

Languedoc-Roussillon (often called “the Languedoc”) is a historical coastal region in southern France. Extending from Provence to the Pyrenees Mountains and the border with Spain. In fact it’s now part of Occitanie.

In fact the area is a major wine producer, with Vin de Pays d’Oc and sparkling Crémant de Limoux among its best-known varieties. The regional capital, Montpellier, is home to a well-preserved medieval quarter.
