Battonage Chardonnay has aromas of buttered toast, and fresh tropical fruit are abundant on the nose. The palate has some fresh fruit flavours of lemon, pears and pineapple with complex caramel. Oaky butter and toast character from the oak. That is the result to have a long and elegant end.

Producer/Region:
Kovács Nimród Winery is a fantastical name which make a name for itself in Hungary… If you Google ‘Nimród’, you can find a mixed bag of definitions including a skilful hunter, great-grandson of Noah and a sky plane but you can now add to this a world-class winery located in Eger, which is one of Hungary’s most premium wine regions.
Here, wines are expertly crafted from grapes hand harvested in the top three terroirs. These Grand Cru and Premier Cru classified vineyards enjoy a cool climate similar to Burgundy. Which is why (along with producing premium wines) we can call Eger ‘the Hungarian Burgundy’. The sites are have varieties like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. But also feature traditional Hungarian varietals including Furnint and Kékfrankos. The winery is in seven continuous cellars on the historic Verőszala Street in Eger.
In the 18th Century they press all the wines in the houses above each cellar so they handle onsite grape processing, And after they have the grape juice, the wines were stored in barrel in the cool cellars below.
Today, the owner Nimród Kovács, an international businessman and philanthropist man, make sure his legacy continues with the same tradition, being sure they continue to make wine in a similar way. they just added the 21st century technology, because is the best way to continue the tradition.
