At Averesti, the story begins thousands of years ago, in times when the most valuable asset of men was the fruit of the earth. Here in Averesti Domain, the vine has deep roots, vine cultivation being part of the culture of the place ever since 5000 years ago.The elevated altitude, the more acidic forest soil, the cool climate, all these conditions specific to the area shape an ideal microclimate for the vineyards of Avereşti, preserving the acidity and favoring the complexity of flavors in grapes. The fruit of the over 650 hectares of vineyards spreading over the Avereşti Domains is transformed with passion and skill in fresh, bright and aromatic wines.
The cultivation of the vine has always gone hand in hand with the Moldavian hills, the Huși Vineyard being the perfect example of this symbiosis that is lost in time immemorial. Situated in the south-eastern part of the Central Moldavian Plateau, complemented by a cool climate and nutritious soils, Huși Vineyards totals 3,000 hectares of amazing beauty, ideal for growing grapes of outstanding varieties. Time has not changed the ancient occupation of the people of the place, the vine culture being taught from father to son for centuries. Huși vineyard bears the mark of the passion and tradition of the community. Branded wine is not a foreign concept, when we refer to the Huși vineyard. Here we encounter aged valuable varieties such as Huşi Zghihara, Feteasca Regală, Busuioaca de Bohotin, Feteasca Albă, alongside international varieties such as Aligote, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Since 2010, Avereşti has begun revitalizing viticulture to exceptional standards. Replanting vineyards up to 650 hectares of noble vine today, building a state-of-the-art wine cellar and forming a team of experienced oenologists and viticulturists, high-class specialists, speak about the passion and dedication of the Avereşti team. In the Areas of Avereşti Domains we have planted distinct varieties in separate plots, which allows us to obtain pure wines, most being DOC certified.
Various grape varieties are available for aromatic wines: Busuioaca de Bohotin, Tămâioasa Românească and Muscat Ottonel, for white wines: Zghihara, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala, Aligote, as well as varieties for red wines: Feteasca Neagra, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Merlot.
To meet the challenge of creating special wines, significant investments were needed for plantations and wine cellars. At this moment, the Averești Domains have 650 hectares of noble vine and one of the largest plantations of Busuioaca de Bohotin in Romania (105 ha).
The grapes were harvested in the morning until 10 o’clock, by hand with care, at a sugar content of 195g / l, then grapes were removed from the grape cluster without crushing. The grapes were cooled to a temperature of 10 ° C and then press macerated for 6 hours. After gravity decantation for 24 hours, the grape juice was fermented in 2000L vessels at 12 ° C for 18 days.
