Chateau de Musset, Lalande de Pomerol Tasting notes
A brilliant colour with an expressive nose. Supple and elegant with fine tannins and a rather long finish with notes of dried fruits. This wine will drink now or cellar.
Food Match for Chateau de Musset, Lalande de Pomeral
The velvety yet firm tannins make this a great match for game meats or beef. Would also pair excellently with a fabulously curated cheeseboard
The Château de Musset and the Château Chêne-Vieux are located in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, and more precisely in the Libournais. They each come under a different Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC): Château de Musset is a Lalande de Pomerol, while Château Chêne-Vieux is a Puisseguin Saint-Émilion. This geographical location naturally leads us to respect the Bordeaux tradition to produce wines typical of this prestigious region.
Acquired by the family in 1963, the Château de Musset vineyard now has nearly 27 hectares planted. It is one of the most important properties of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. A new (hyper-modern) cellar was built in 2000.
Close to the confluence of the Dordogne and the Isle, Lalande de Pomerol benefits, like the neighboring AOCs, from a sunny, hot and humid climate, perfectly suited to the vines. The vineyard is planted on clay-gravelly and sandy-gravelly soil.
