Tasting notes:
The nose shows freshness and fruit with notes of lemon meringue pie followed by yellow fruit such as Mirabelle plums. Then, as the Champagne warms up, aromas of plums with slightly honeyed and toasted notes start to come through.
On the palate, the Champagne confirms its richness and volume. The Pinot Noir endows it with structure and depth. Hawthorn and white flower aromas fuse naturally together in a fine acidity sustained by citrus fruit.
Food Match:
Match with pork, shellfish, rich fish, mild and soft cheeses.
Region/Producer:
The predominantly Pinot Noir blend creates a very fine fruit, refreshed by the Chardonnay endowing it with an elegant, mineral finish.
Bottled at the end of the spring following the harvest, 4 years minimum ageing in cellars. The dosage is adjusted with precision to preserve the balance between freshness, fruit and vinosity without masking the wine’s character and purity.
The history of the Gosset family begins more than five centuries ago with the first official ancestor of the lineage, Jean Gosset (1484-1556), “Lord of Aÿ and Mareuil”.
The origins of the House date back to 1584 when Pierre Gosset, lord and alderman of Aÿ, decided to open a wine trading house. Sixteen generations, in direct line, have distinguished themselves in Aÿ-Champagne since him and have perpetuated the House’s expertise, respecting a traditional family craft
For over four centuries, Maison Gosset has perpetuated the refinement and transmission of its expertise in crafting Champagne wines with a distinctive character. As early as 1584, Pierre Gosset, alderman of Aÿ and winegrower, produced still wines, often red, from the harvest of his own vines.
The Gosset style is characterized by a great mineral freshness combined with a deep vinosity.
A unique style, resulting from a singular winemaking method that preserves the original freshness of the grape aromas, ensures a long maturation potential for the wines on their lees in cellars, offering connoisseurs wines of great depth: elegant and complex at the same time.
