Product Description

Tasting notes:

Cap de Pera DO Terra Alta. This intense, ruby coloured wine packs aromas of raspberry and blackberry fruit with delicate violet flowers and subtle spice. Soft and round on the palate with a long finish.

Food Match:

This wine will pair perfectly with pan roasted duck in plum sauce or a rich beef Bourguignon.

Producer/Region:

At Vallformosa, they collaborate to care for and conserve the areas and their indigenous varieties. In the highest area of the Penedès, 500 metres above sea level.  The Mediterranean highlands, where the vineyards are known as the “+500 area”. The grapes from theses mountainous parcels ripen more slowly thanks to the day and night temperature contrast, enhancing the wines’ organoleptic qualities. 

Vinification: Cap de Pera DO Terra Alta

The harvest is carried out manually, at the optimal point of ripeness, which occurs between the end of September and the beginning of October.

Maceration is carried out in stainless steel tanks for two weeks, with daily pump-over to extract all the color and aromas from the varieties. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 22ºC and, subsequently, a second fermentation, the malolactic fermentation, is performed.
